We're in the countdown--8 more days and we are on our way. We are anticipating a long and productive journey (safari). We have 7 different people who will be helping out in Lukaya in various ways over various times of overlap with our time there.

Luke Culleny will be doing videography and lending a hand to his uncle, Tom Sheridan who will be overseeing the installation of new solar panels that will power the water pump to provide piped water to the whole village of Kalungi. He will also oversee the installation of new energy efficient stoves and a new kitchen for Mustard Seed Academy, plus a small solar electricity set-up for the school.

Diane Falk, a professor in Social Work, will be studying ways that Tree of Life Ministries can be more effective in giving much needed care to many orphans and vulnerable children in Lukaya, and especially those who are attending Mustard Seed Academy.

Judy Sconyers will be lending her librarian skills to the developing resource center at MSA as well as checking up on Nancy's Girls (secondary school girls from Kalungi who are part of a sponsorship program).

Jackie Sarner, Lee Whitton, and Joanne Reger will be our educational specialists who will work with both teachers and students. They will be observing the children in the school and helping to connect with what Diane is seeing in the homes.

We are all going to experience cultural tourism at Uganda's national parks, and hopefully, see some ways that TOLM can become more self-sufficient by developing cultural tourism projects. At the very least, we will be encouraged and motivated by the great natural riches of the country.

Joe and I will be doing a lot of coordinating and a lot of work with long term planning and site development with David, George and other Ugandan leaders.

Today we are working on how to get solar panels to Uganda. I'm learning the ins and outs of Delta Cargo. I also spent an hour on the phone with Delta about seat assignments and using SkyMiles for flights to Uganda in the summer and the fall. It was all bad news--the merger of Northwest and Delta has left us with SkyMiles that are nearly useless.
